In poverty, they learn to be industrious and generous which they were able to apply in learning and work. They are not afraid to fail because its part of learning and there is a dream to make true.
There was a story on Philippine television of a waiter to owning ten restaurants. From being a waiter he tried other jobs and when he observed how pitiful his co-workers are, he went back to waitering. He work hard while observing the management and promised himself a better life. He said, "When you are poor, there is no other way but up."
